House Hockey

CCYHA's house hockey program provides players with an opportunity to develop in a competitive environment by providing a challenging, fun, athletic team atmosphere that provides lasting benefits to each player.

All players are placed on teams which participate in the Columbus House Hockey League. This allows for a greater level of competition playing against other central Ohio teams.

The re-season/evaluation schedule is live and the practice groups have been assigned for the first three weeks, which start the week of October 2.

You can find your player's practice GROUP and SCHEDULE by downloading the CROSSBAR MOBILE APP. You will log on the app using the user name and password you used to register your player.

Key Dates

June 29-30 Early registration begins for current CCYHA members (families with a player during the 2022-23 season)

July 1 Registration open to the public

After the conditioning evaluation skates, players will be placed on teams based upon skill level and age.

In Columbus House Hockey 12U teams are tiered by Major/Minor groups (the major group is typically the order birth year in a division; the minor group is typically the younger birth year in a division). However, final placement is based upon age AND skill.

14U teams is a mixed aged division.

Practices will be approximately 4-6 times a month and may be at Dublin Chiller (our home rink), but can be at any Chiller location - including Chiller IceWorks and Chiller North. Practices vary due to ice availability from the Chiller ice rinks.

Every team will play approximately 14 or more games in the Columbus House Hockey League. Games will begin in late October.

Our volunteer coaches are the core of our hockey program. We are fortunate to have many parents that have skills to share and are looking to develop our hockey players. Parents interested in volunteering should register to coach at the link below.

Every player will receive a jersey and socks before games begin and are included in the registration fees.

Players should wear full protective gear in order to play safely and enjoy the sport.  Equipment includes the following:  stick • skates • shin pads • hockey pants • hockey gloves • protective cup • elbow pads • shoulder pads • helmet with mask • mouth guard.

Players interested in being a full-time goalie should purchase their own equipment as CCYHA does not typically provide equipment for full-time goalies due to the different sizes of the players and should get used to their own gear.

Detailed information on where to purchase or how to put on hockey equipment can be found our Equipment Page.

Players interested in further development are welcome to tryout for our Development teams. Families will incur additional costs in addition to our house program.  Selection occurs during the first month of the program through a tryout. Tryout dates and registration will be announced soon.

Email and your questions will be answered or directed to the appropriate person.
